No differences in mid- to long-term outcomes of computer-assisted navigation versus conventional total knee arthroplasty.
Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2020 Oct;28(10):3183-3192Seven randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis comparing the conventional and computed-navigated total knee arthroplasty (TKA) for patients for knee osteoarthritis. Outcomes of interest included Knee Society Scores, the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis (WOMAC) Index, pain scores, and range of motion. In addition, radiological outcomes were also assessed including outliers from the normal axis (mechanical or anatomic axis), femoral component outliers in the coronal plane, and tibial component outliers in the coronal plane. All outcomes had to be followed-up for a minimum of 5 years. Pooled results demonstrated that none of the outcomes were statistically significantly different between the two TKA methods.
