2023 SICOT Annual Meeting: Comparison of Early Internal Fixation of Schatzkar V and VI With and Without Close Faciotomy

OE Journal. 2023;11(22):2650 patients undergoing fixation of Schatzkar type V & VI fractures were randomized to undergo closed fasciotomy + dual plating (n=25) or dual plating alone (n=25). Outcomes of interest included wound complications, secondary trauma, and rehabilitation time. Closed fasciotomy + dual plating of the proximal tibia showed better results in all outcomes with no development of acute compartment syndrome.
