Quadriceps vs. Hamstring Autograft Tendon in ACL Reconstruction .
Quadriceps and hamstring tendon autografts in ACL reconstruction yield comparably good results in a prospective, randomized controlled trial
Arch Orthop Trauma Surg . 2022 Feb;142(2):281-289.Fifty one patients undergoing ACL reconstruction were randomized to receive an autograft hamstring tendon graft (n=27) or quadriceps tendon autograft (n=24). The primary outcome of interest was postoperative side to side knee laxity measured with an arthrometer. Secondary outcomes of interest were functional outcomes measured with the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) and Lysholm Scores, strength testing and adverse events. There was no statistically significant differences noted in any of the recorded outcomes between groups at 2-year follow-up.
