Thirteen studies, encompassing a total of 846 patients with chronic lateral epicondylitis ("tennis elbow"), were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis comparing corticosteroid (Treatment A, n=431) versus platelet-rich plasma (PRP, Treatment B, n=415) injections. Pooled outcomes of interest included pain assessments using the visual analog scale (VAS) at 1, 3, and 6 months, as well as patient-reported outcomes measured by the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand questionnaire (DASH). The analysis suggests that steroid injections are beneficial within the early treatment period, while PRP is superior to steroids at both 3 and 6 months.
