2016 COA Annual Meeting: Cost-effectiveness of Single Row versus Double Row Constructs in Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair

OE Journal. 2016;4(12):3790 patients scheduled to undergo arthroscopic rotator cuff repair were randomized to received either single row or double row constructs. The purpose of this study was to compare the cost-effectiveness of the two aforementioned treatments over 2-year follow-up. Findings indicated a higher case cost in the double row repair, but also higher quality adjusted life years (QALY) compared to the single row repair. Double row repair was considered to be cost-effective compared to single row repair with the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) situated within the willingness to pay threshold of $50,000 per QALY gained, and even more cost-effective for patients with tears larger than 3cm.
