Effects of adding neural mobilization to traditional physical therapy on pain, functional disability, and H-reflex in patients after lumbar laminectomy: A randomized controlled trial.
Clin Rehabil. 2022 Jan;36(1): 51-58.Sixty patients who received a lumbar laminectomy for lumbar spinal stenosis were randomized to receive a 6 week physical therapy program plus neural mobilization (n=30) or physical therapy alone (n=30). Outcomes of interest included pain scores (Visual Analog Scale), functional scores (Oswestry Disability Index), and H-reflex latency, measured upon completion of the 6 week intervention period. Results revealed all outcomes to be significantly in favour of the neural mobilization group.
