ORIGINAL ANALYSIS

Highlights from AAOS 2023

This OE Insight summarizes 26 RCTs presented at AAOS 2023, with the highest volume in knee, hip, and shoulder/elbow categories. Key trials explored transfusion thresholds (ORACL), dual-mobility vs. large head implants, oral vs. IV TXA, and oral dexamethasone for TKA pain. Other studies covered suturing, PROMs, pain management, and vitamin D3 in arthroplasty. The reverse fragility index in ACL grafts also featured. Results reflect evolving priorities in surgical optimization, cost-effectiveness, and patient-centered outcomes.
