While allografts offer advantages such as avoiding donor-site morbidity and reducing operative time, they may have limitations related to biologic incorporation and graft strength. These results highlight the importance of graft selection in patellar instability surgery, suggesting that autograft may provide more reliable outcomes in appropriately selected patients undergoing MPFL reconstruction.
