Synopsis
Ninety-nine patients with plantar calcaneal spurs were randomized to receive either radial extracorporeal shock-wave therapy (EWST; n=33), focused EWST (n=33), or sham (n=33). Outcomes of interest were pain, disability, and activity limitation, all measured using the foot function index (FFI). Adverse events were also assessed at 1, 5, and 13 weeks post-intervention.
