Twenty five patients with an acute single-digit flexor tendon injury in Zone III, IV or V undergoing a flexor tendon repair were randomized to receive acellular dermal matrix (n=13) or no additional treatment (n=12) for the prevention of post-operative flexor tendon adhesion and facilitation of functional recovery.
