2014 World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases: Effectiveness of Rehabilitation Program on Lower Limb Functional Status After Total Knee Arthroplasty

OE Journal. 2014;2(8):2727 patients who had undergone total knee arthroplasty (TKA) were randomized to undergo either an early, complex rehabilitation program (treatment group) - including both supervised and home-based exercises - or standard care (control group). The purpose of this study was to compare these two rehabilitation protocols with respect to postoperative pain and lower limb functional status. Results at 1 and 6 months indicated that postoperative pain, function, and patient satisfaction were better in the treatment group compared to the control group.
