Comparison of the Tight Rope Technique and Clavicular Hook Plate for the Treatment of Rockwood Type III Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation

OE Journal. 2019;7(3):72 J Invest Surg. 2018 Jun;31(3):226-23376 patients with a Rockwood type III acromioclavicular joint dislocation were randomized to either TightRope fixation or clavicular hook plate fixation. Patients were assessed over 1 year postoperatively. Constant-Murley score and coracoclavicular distance did not significantly differ between groups over the first year of follow-up. Pain scores were significantly lower in the TightRope group. However, three patients experienced redislocation in the TightRope group versus none in the hook plate group.
