Effects of technology-assisted rehabilitation for patients with hip arthroplasty: A meta-analysis.
Medicine (Baltimore) . 2023 Nov 10;102(45):e35921.11 randomized controlled trials comparing the effects of a technology-assisted rehabilitation program against a conventional rehabilitation care program were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. Outcomes of interest included Harris Hip Score (HHS), Functional Independence Measure (FIM), Activities of Daily Living (ADL), normalized mental health scale, normalized physical health scale, Timed Up and Go (TUG) test, walking speed, and Hip Disability and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score - Joint Replacement (HOOS-JR). A subgroup analysis of telerehabilitation and video-based therapy against a placebo was also done. All outcomes were similar between the two groups except for HHS, FIM, and walk test scores which favored the rehabilitation group.
