Effect of age on clinical and radiographic outcomes and adverse events following 1-level lumbar arthroplasty after a minimum 2-year follow-up
J Neurosurg Spine. 2008 Feb;8(2)276 patients who underwent single level total disc arthroplasty, using the Charite Artificial Disc in a previous randomized trial, were analyzed based on patient age. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of patient's age on the clinical and functional outcomes of total disc arthroplasty. The results 2 years postoperatively indicated that all clinical and functional outcomes were similar between the 18-45 and 46-60 age groups, with both groups displaying similar levels of satisfaction.
