Prospective Randomized Comparison of Double-Bundle Versus Single-Bundle Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
Arthroscopy. 2008 Feb;24(2):137-4570 patients with ACL deficient knees were randomized to undergo repair using either a double bundle or single bundle hamstring tendon procedure. Follow-up, after an average of 19 months, indicated that DB repair had superior anterior stability with a greater number of patients demonstrating a negative pivot shift test. Patients who had undergone DB repair also demonstrated markedly better objective IKDC scores compared to single bundle repair.
