Evaluation of a single-dose, extended-release epidural morphine formulation for pain after knee arthroplasty

OE Journal. 2013;1(12):48 J Bone Joint Surg Am. 2006 Feb;88(2):273-81168 patients were randomised to receive either a single-dose, extended-release epidural morphine formulation intervention (DepoDur) at 20 or 30 mg, or a sham epidural injection after undergoing elective unilateral knee arthroplasty. The primary outcomes were pain and safety. Results indicated that the DepoDur intervention provided a safe and efficacious method of analgesia for patients up to 48 hours after undergoing knee arthroplasty.
