Progression of osteoarthritis after double- and single-bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction
Am J Sports Med. 2013 Oct;41(10):2340-6130 patients who underwent anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) participated in this study to determine the prevalence of osteoarthritis (OA) following single or double bundle ACLR. 4 years after surgery, functional and clinical outcomes were similar between groups. The prevalence of osteoarthritis using the Kellgren-Lawrence grading system was comparable between approaches; however, a longer follow-up is required to further assess the progression of osteoarthritis following these differing techniques.
