Reparable rotator cuff tears with concomitant long-head biceps lesions: tenotomy or tenotomy/tenodesis?

65 patients affected by rotator cuff tear with concomitant degeneration of the long head of the biceps (LHB) tendon were randomized to compare the clinical, functional, and radiological results of two different treatments. Patients received either tenotomy/tenodesis or isolated tenotomy of the LHB. The assessment after a median time of 24 months showed that the long head of the biceps tenotomy combined with tenodesis does not provide any significant clinical or functional improvement than isolated tenotomy.
