OrthoEvidence Journal (OE Journal) - ACE Report
OE Journal. 2016;4(2):28 Am J Sports Med. 2015 Jun 1. pii: 036354651558475620 patients with full-thickness rotator cuff tears were randomized to either a standard care treatment or 0.015mg/mL rhBMP-12/ACS along with standard care treatment during open rotator cuff repair to assess the safety and feasibility of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-12 (rhBMP-12) on an absorbable collagen sponge (ACS) as an adjuvant. Patients were followed for 52 weeks postoperatively. Findings indicated that rhBMP-12/ACS was a safe and feasible option for open rotator cuff repair when used at a concentration of 0.015 mg/mL.
