Clinical Application of Remifentanil Combined with Sevoflurane in Manual Reduction of Humeral Supracondylar Fracture in Children
Comput Math Methods Med . 2022 Jul 8;2022:2410433.Sixty children undergoing manual reduction for humeral supracondylar fractures were randomized to receive either remifentanil and sevoflurane (n=30) or sevoflurane alone (n=30). Outcomes of interest were heart rate (HR), mean arterial pressure (MAP), and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) before anesthesia, 2 minutes after anesthesia, and after manual reduction. Satisfaction with the sedative and analgesic effects was also measured either as excellent, good, or poor. There were no significant differences in HR, MAP, and SpO2 at all time points. Time to healing and incidence of successful reduction were similar between both groups. Manual reduction time was significantly lower in the combination group.
