Postural Plus Cervical Stabilization for Chronic Neck Pain .
Effect of Postural Stabilization Exercises in Combination with Cervical Stabilization Exercises on Craniovertebral Angle, Pain, Disability, and Quality of Life in Patients with Chronic Neck Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Healthcare (Basel) . 2025 Jun 11;13(12):1388.Sixty women with chronic neck pain were randomized to receive cervical stabilization plus scapular and lumbopelvic postural stabilization (SLPS+CS; n=30) or cervical stabilization alone (CS; n=30), three times weekly for 6 weeks; all participants also received stretching and a 20-minute hot pack. The primary outcome of interest was pain (VAS). Secondary outcomes included craniovertebral angle (CVA), Neck Disability Index (NDI), and SF-36 quality-of-life subscales. Outcomes were assessed pre-treatment, post-treatment, and at 2-month follow-up. Overall, the results of the study revealed clinically and statistically greater improvements with SLPS+CS: lower VAS and NDI scores, larger CVA, and higher SF-36 scores (most subscales) both post-treatment and at follow-up. These findings suggest that adding scapular and lumbopelvic stabilization to cervical exercises provides superior symptom relief and functional gains versus cervical exercises alone.
