Pain from donor site after anterior cervical fusion with bone graft: a prospective randomized study with 12 months of follow-up
Eur Spine J. 2013 Jan;22(1):142-7. doi: 10.1007/s00586-012-2456-z. Epub 2012 Aug 14107 patients with cervical radiculopathy were randomised to undergo anterior cervical fusion either with bone graft (BG) from the iliac crest or with no bone graft (NBG), to assess the pain from the donor site (DS) and whether it affected the patients’ health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Following evaluations over a 12 month period, results indicated that the pain from the bone graft harvesting did not seem to affect patients HRQoL in the long run.
