Open Versus Percutaneous Fixation of Trigger Finger: Meta-Analysis of Clinical Outcomes.

Eight studies including 548 patients with trigger finger were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis comparing percutaneous A1 pulley release versus open A1 pulley release. Pooled outcomes of interest included revision rates, complication rates, postoperative pain, patient satisfaction, and return to normal activity. The meta-analysis found no statistically significant differences between the two techniques in the need for revision (p = 0.27), complication rates (p = 0.84), or postoperative pain (p = 0.54). The main findings suggest that both approaches are equally effective and safe, allowing surgeon preference to guide treatment selection.
