No difference between BTB and ST autograft for ACL reconstruction at long-term follow-up .
Patellar tendon or semitendinosus tendon autografts for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: a prospective, randomized study with a 7-Year follow-up.
Am J Sports Med. 2007 May;35(5):740-8. Epub 2007 Feb 971 patients with an ACL rupture were randomized to receive ACL reconstruction using either a central third bone-patellar tendon-bone autograft or a triple/quadruple semitendinosus autograft. The results at the 7 year follow up period indicated that similar outcomes were achieved using either the central third BTB autograft or the triple/quadruple ST autograft. In addition, in contrast to short-term studies, this study reported no difference with respect to donor-site morbidity and laxity between both treatment groups.
