A Randomized Sham-Controlled Trial of a Neurodynamic Technique in the Treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

OE Journal. 2013;1(1):28 J Orthop Sports Phys Ther. 2009 Oct;39(10):709-23. doi: 10.2519/jospt.2009.3117.40 female patients suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome were randomized to receive neurodynamic technique (NDT) treatment or a sham treatment. This study assessed the efficacy of NDT treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome and attempted to identify the treatments mechanism of action. The results from this study indicated that at 3 weeks, changes in clinical pain intensity and upper arm disability, associated with NDT, were equivalent to that of the sham intervention.
