Motor control exercise for chronic low back pain: a randomized placebo-controlled trial

154 patients with nonspecific chronic low back pain were randomized either to receive motor control exercise therapy or a placebo therapy. This study assessed efficacy of motor control exercise therapy for the treatment of chronic low back pain and compared its outcomes to a placebo group. The results from this study indicated that motor control exercises lead to improvements in global impression of recovery and activity. Pain intensity was only relieved in the short term.
