60 patients with thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) joint osteoarthritis (OA) were randomized to receive multimodal manual therapy or a sham treatment, in order to determine the efficacy of manual therapy on pain management. Following evaluations over a 2 month period, results exhibited that patients who received multimodal manual therapy experienced greater reductions in pain in comparison to those who underwent the sham treatment.
