High Impact
This study has been identified as potentially high impact. OE's AI-driven High Impact metric estimates the influence a paper is likely to have by integrating signals from both the journal in which it is published and the scientific content of the article itself. Developed using state-of-the-art natural language processing, the OE High Impact model more accurately predicts a study's future citation performance than journal impact factor alone. This enables earlier recognition of clinically meaningful research and helps readers focus on articles most likely to shape future practice.

Modulating the rate and rhythmicity of perceptual rivalry alternations with the mixed 5-HT2A and 5-HT1A agonist psilocybin

Neuropsychopharmacology. 2005 23-Feb;():. 10.1038/sj.npp.1300621

Twelve healthy subjects underwent a double-blind, placebo-controlled, within-subject study design to test the effects of psilocybin on binocular rivalry and perceptual switching. In a counterbalanced order, subjects received a placebo, a low-dose of psilocybin (115 microg/kg) and a high dose (250 microg/kg) on three days separated by two weeks. At the peak of drug action, the rate and rhythmicity of perceptual alternations were significantly reduced compared to placebo levels. After the peak of drug action, the perceptual switch rate successively increased. These changes in rivalry phase durations paralleled changes in psychological state as measured by the 5D-ASC.
