Effects of Pilates method in elderly people: Systematic review of randomized controlled trials
J Bodyw Mov Ther. 2015 Jul;19(3):500-86 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) exploring the effects of Pilates in adults above the age of 60 were included in this systematic review. The purpose of the review was to determine the effects on health and performance of Pilates specific to this population. Findings suggested that a Pilates program may have a beneficial effect on static and dynamic balance, and possibly on body fat percentage, fat mass, and lean body mass.
