Knee OA: Bracing combined with standard care increases walking distances .
This study has been identified as potentially high impact.
OE's AI-driven High Impact metric estimates the influence a paper is likely to have by integrating signals from both the journal in which it is published and the scientific content of the article itself.
Developed using state-of-the-art natural language processing, the OE High Impact model more accurately predicts a study's future citation performance than journal impact factor alone.
This enables earlier recognition of clinically meaningful research and helps readers focus on articles most likely to shape future practice.
Brace treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee: a prospective randomized multi-centre trial
Osteoarthritis Cartilage. 2006 Aug;14(8):777-83. Epub 2006 Mar 24117 patients with unicompartmental osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee were randomized in a study to receive conservative treatment and a knee brace (OAsys brace, Innovation Sports, Irvine, CA, USA) or conservative treatment alone. At 12 months, the difference between the two groups for pain severity, knee functioning and quality of life was not statistically significant. The patients who received the knee brace, however, reported significantly longer walking distances than the control group at all follow up time periods.
