A study on the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma in the treatment of rotator cuff tendinitis
40 patients with rotator cuff tendinitis were randomized to subacromial injection of either platelet-rich plasma or triamicinolone acetonide. Patients were assessed for pain and functional score over a 12-month follow-up. Change in Constant score after 12 months was significantly greater in the PRP group compared to the steroid group. Both groups demonstrate similar, significant reductions in visual analog pain scores over the follow-up.
