A double blinded prospective randomized controlled trial of a single injection of PRP versus saline following rotator cuff repair
89 patients scheduled for arthroscopic rotator cuff repair were randomized to an injection of either platelet rich plasma or saline at 7-10 days postoperatively. Patients were assessed using clinical outcome scores and tendon healing MRI. At 12 months, no significant differences between groups were noted in any clinical score or in retear rate.
