The effect of interferential current therapy on patients with subacromial impingement syndrome: a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled study

65 patients with subacromial impingement syndrome were randomized to either active interferential current therapy or sham interferential current therapy. All patients were also administered exercise therapy, cryotherapy, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug therapy. The treatment period was two weeks, after which patients were assessed for pain, function, and disability measures. Follow-up was also performed at 1 month after the completion of treatment. Results demonstrated no significant differences between groups for any measure at either the completion of treatment or at 1-month follow-up.
