70 patients with mild-moderate adolescent idiopathic scoliosis were randomized to one of two exercise programmes: forward head posture correction exercises combined with strengthening and stretching exercises (study group), or strengthening and stretching alone (control group). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of correction exercises on spinal symmetry in the transverse, coronal, and sagittal planes. Patients were assessed after the 10 week programmes, and again at 3 month follow-up. Results indicated significant improvement in spinal symmetry in the study group compared to control group, as well as improved function at 3 month follow-up.
