Sixty-eight patients with indications for total hip arthroplasty (THA) were randomized to receive perioperative care and follow-up with the AVIP mobile application (n=34) or standard in-person care (n=34). The primary outcome was functional outcome assessed by the modified Harris Hip Score (mHHS). Secondary outcomes included the WOMAC hip test, SF-12 quality of life scores, functional gait ability, patient satisfaction (SUCE questionnaire), pain intensity, and anxiety. Outcomes were measured at preoperative baseline, 4 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months. Overall, the results showed significant improvement in functional status, quality of life, and pain in both groups, with no significant differences at 6 months. The A Mobile Health Application (AVIP) group showed a significant early advantage in gait at 4 weeks and reported lower anxiety levels. These findings suggest that the AVIP app is as effective as standard care in supporting perioperative management and may reduce early anxiety and improve early gait ability.
