No difference in union and recurrence rate between iliac crest autograft versus allograft following medial opening wedge high tibial osteotomy: a randomized controlled trial
Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc . 2021 Oct;29(10):3375-3381.Forty-six patients with genovarum undergoing medial opening wedge high tibial osteotomy were randomized to receive an iliac crest autograft (n=23) or iliac crest allograft (n=23). The outcomes of interest were time to union, correction obtained, complication rates and function. There were no differences in time to union, alignment correction, functional outcomes or complications between groups. The allograft group had a significantly shorter operative time.
