Effectiveness of high-intensity laser therapy in the treatment of patients with frozen shoulder: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Lasers Med Sci . 2023 Nov 20;38(1):266.Five randomized controlled trials (187 patients) comparing high-intensity laser therapy (HILT) against a control were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. The primary outcome of interest was pain on a Normalized Pain Scale (NPS). Secondary outcomes of interest included range of motion (ROM) in flexion, external rotation, abduction, and Normalized Disability Scale (NDS). All outcomes were similar between the two groups except for pain intensity and shoulder disability one month after treatment which favored the HILT group.
