Arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with at least 2.5 years' follow-up comparing hamstring tendon autograft and irradiated allograft

OE Journal. 2013;1(2):199 Arthroscopy. 2011 Sep;27(9):1195-20278 patients undergoing arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction were randomized to receive either hamstring tendon autograft or irradiated allograft. The results of the study indicated that patients who received irradiated allograft had a significantly higher rate of laxity. However, it was also found that the two groups did not differ significantly in regards to function and activity level.
