The effect of elastic therapeutic taping on back extensor muscle endurance in patients with low back pain: a randomized, controlled, crossover trial.

OE Journal. 2015;3(14):14 J Orthop Sports Phys Ther. 2015 Mar;45(3):215-9.16 adult patients with low back pain (LBP) were included in this study and underwent all 3 treatment conditions through a crossover design. The three interventions included receiving elastic therapy tape (ETT), receiving rigid therapeutic tape (RTT), and receiving no treatment. The Biering-Sørensen test was used to measure back muscle endurance in all three intervention conditions. The results of this study indicated that tests performed under the ETT condition resulted in improved when compared to those performed under no intervention. This difference was not greater than measurement error. However the difference between ETT and RTT groups was not signficant, nor was the difference between RTT and the no intervention group.
