EFORT: Peri-articular & intravenous TXA similar for hemostasis in total knee arthroplasty .
This study has been identified as potentially high impact.
OE's AI-driven High Impact metric estimates the influence a paper is likely to have by integrating signals from both the journal in which it is published and the scientific content of the article itself.
Developed using state-of-the-art natural language processing, the OE High Impact model more accurately predicts a study's future citation performance than journal impact factor alone.
This enables earlier recognition of clinically meaningful research and helps readers focus on articles most likely to shape future practice.
Peri-articular injection of tranexamic acid in reducing postoperative blood loss in total knee arthroplasty: Does it work? A randomized controlled trial
60 patients scheduled for total knee arthroplasty were randomized to tranexamic acid (750mg) administration either through peri-articular injections or intravenous injection. The purpose of this study was to compare visible postoperative blood loss, hemoglobin drop, transfusion incidence, and the rate of venous thromboembolic (VTE) complications. Hemostatic outcomes were measured at 48 hours postoperatively, and symptomatic VTE was monitored up to 1 month postoperatively. Results demonstrated no significant difference between groups for any of the outcome parameters.
