Efficacy of wet cupping in the pain management of cervical spondylosis - A randomized, controlled, open -label, parallel-group clinical trial.

Forty-four patients with cervical spondylosis were randomized to receive either wet cupping therapy (n=22) or Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) (n=22). The primary outcome of interest was pain reduction assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Secondary outcomes included the Neck Disability Index (NDI) and cervical range of motion. Outcomes were assessed at baseline and on the 21st day. Overall, the results of the study revealed that wet cupping therapy led to significantly greater improvements in VAS, NDI, and cervical range of motion compared to TENS. These findings suggest that wet cupping therapy may be a superior alternative for pain management in cervical spondylosis patients.
