Effect of Nursing Care Based on Health Empowerment Theory for Patients with Spinal Fractures .
A randomized controlled study on systematic nursing care based on health empowerment theory and its effect on the self-care and functional abilities of patients with spinal fractures.
J Orthop Surg Res . 2023 Nov 1;18(1):821.Fifty patients with spinal fractures were randomized to receive systematic nursing care based on health empowerment theory (n=25) or conventional nursing care (n=25). The primary outcome was self-care ability, measured using the Self-Management Assessment Scale. Secondary outcomes included functional ability (measured using the ADL scale), knowledge about the condition, and pain levels (measured using the VAS scale). Outcomes were assessed before and after treatment. Overall, the results revealed that patients in the systematic nursing care group demonstrated significantly improved self-care ability, functional ability, and knowledge about their condition and experienced greater pain relief compared to the control group.
