Fifty patients with plantar fasciitis were randomized to receive Class IV LASER therapy combined with low-dye kinesio-taping or Class IV LASER therapy combined with plantar fascia stretching. The primary outcomes of interest were pain intensity (VAS) and pain pressure threshold (PPT). Secondary outcomes included functional disability measured by the Foot Function Index (FFI). Outcomes were assessed at baseline and after 2 weeks of intervention. Overall, the results of the study revealed that both groups demonstrated significant improvements in pain, PPT, and disability. However, the stretching group showed significantly greater improvements compared to the kinesio-taping group. These findings suggest that plantar fascia stretching may be a more effective addition to Class IV LASER therapy in managing plantar fasciitis.
