Usefulness of corset adoption after single-level lumbar discectomy: a randomized controlled trial.

OE Journal. 2018;6(11):9 J Neurosurg Spine. 2018 May;28(5):481-48554 patients with single-level lumbar disc herniation and scheduled for discectomy were randomized to postoperative corset wear or no corset wear. The corset was to be worn for the first 4 weeks after surgery, and patients were followed up at 1 month and 6 months after surgery. Results demonstrated no significant differences between groups at either time point in pain on a visual analog scale, the Oswestry Disability Index, or Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire.
