One hundred and sixty-three patients with fragility fractures were randomized to receive either a coordinator-based intervention (n=83) or a non-liaison intervention (n=80). Quality of life using the EuroQuol 5 Dimensions 5 Level (EQ-5D-5L) questionnaire was assessed at 6 months at 2 years and converted to a standardized health score (Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL)). HRQOL was significant in patients with fragility fractures of the hip at 6 months. Significant differences were also apparent in EQ-5D-5L scores at 6 months with regard to usual activities, pain/discomfort, and anxiety/depression, with better scores in the liaison intervention group. Significant differences with better scores in the liaison intervention group were seen at 2 years with regard to pain/discomfort.
