Eight studies including 726 patients with femoral neck fracture were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis comparing femoral neck system (FNS) versus dynamic hip screw (DHS). Pooled outcomes of interest included operative time, intraoperative blood loss, femoral neck shortening, nonunion, osteonecrosis of the femoral head, and Harris hip score (HHS). FNS demonstrated significantly shorter operative time, lower blood loss, and slightly improved functional outcomes, while complication rates including nonunion, osteonecrosis, and neck shortening were comparable between groups. Overall, FNS appears to be a viable alternative fixation method to DHS with potential perioperative advantages.
