2022 COA Annual Meeting : Rotator cuff repair with graft augmentation improves clinical and structural outcomes and decreases retear rates: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Six studies with a total of 257 shoulders were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis comparing rotator cuff repair with vs. without autograft/allograft augmentation. The outcome of interest were functional outcome scores and retear rates with a minimum follow-up period of one year. The results of this meta-analysis found that autograft/allograft augmentation resulted in a significantly lower retear rates and an improvement in pain and functional outcomes vs. those who did not receive autograft/allograft augmentation.
