2015 COA Annual Meeting: Virtual Reality versus Bench Top Simulation in the Acquisition of Arthroscopic Skill: A Randomized Control Trial

OE Journal. 2015;3(12):1539 medical clerks with basic arthroscopic knowledge were randomized to either a virtual reality (VR) or bench top (BT) surgical simulation set-up. The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of the simulators, assessed by transferable skills from the training into the operating room. Results had found that VR and BT are both effective training methods in preparation for surgical practices, although VR may provide a slightly greater advantage in skill transfer.
