COA 2015: Measured device vs surgeon experience for ACL graft tension .
A Randomized Clinical Trial to Assess the Clinical Effectiveness of a Measured Objective Tensioning Device in Hamstring ACL Reconstruction
127 patients were randomized to have graft tension determined either by a measured tensioning device or by the operating surgeon, when performing an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. The goal of this study was to determine if the tensioning device had better clinical outcomes and knee laxity than the surgeon-determined graft tension. Results of this study found no difference between groups at any time point for the KT-1000 score, the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) score, or the ACL quality of life score.
