Grade III Acromio-clavicular Joint Dislocation: Conservative Treatment Compared to Hook Plate Fixation
56 patients with a grade III acromio-clavicular joint dislocation were randomized to undergo conservative treatment or a surgical intervention involving hook plate fixation. The study aimed to compare the two techniques in terms of clinical outcomes. Findings indicated that conservative treatment improved function at a faster rate although at one year, outcomes were comparable between the groups. Additionally, a significantly greater reoperation rate reported in the surgical treatment group.
